About the Military Operations Research Society Symposium

MORS Symposia are classified, normally three days in duration, and represent all military services (uniformed and civilian), government agencies, contractors and academic institutions. The meeting typically includes concurrent special and working group sessions and tutorials. Special sessions consist of formally prepared papers or panels centered on a theme approved by the Board of Directors. Thirty-three working groups are provided for informal discussion and debate on specific issues, methods and applications of operations research. Tutorials expose participants to new concepts, methods and techniques in operations research.

The US Coast Guard Academy
MORS is pleased to be returning to the Coast Guard Academy for the first Symposium held there in over forty years. Founded in 1876 aboard the schooner Dobbin, the Coast Guard Academy develops leaders of character for our nation. The smallest of America’s five federal service academies, the Academy is located on 103 acres along the west bank of the Thames River in historic New London, Connecticut. Here, a dedicated staff and faculty train and educate the future leaders of a totally unique military maritime force that defends the Nation, our economy, and our environment by maintaining safety and security, enforcing laws, saving lives and property, and responding in times of disaster. The Academy is the resident campus for the Corps of Cadets. It is also the home to the Coast Guard Leadership Development Center, Coast Guard Museum, Coast Guard Band, and homeport for the Barque Eagle.

Working Group Charters Working Group Charters contain general background information regarding the long term focus of specific working groups.

The prospectuses that are found in the Announcement and Call for Papers (ACP) are used to refine the yearly WG vision. The entire ACP PDF is above - you may also look at HTML versions of the prospectuses by clicking on the Composite Group links to the left.
